SV1 tube cutting out problem
Hey all, I'm noticing when I play my SV1 with the amp models turned on, more often than not the sound will cut out (particularly when I'm 'digging in'). Upon shutting the amp modeling off, the sound returns, and turning it back on again seems to reset the sound....does this sound like I have a bad tube? Or could this be anything else?

According to this forum, you cannot "pop it out" through the front glass. The keyboard case must be opened. And you can't "troubleshoot" by simply replacing with another tube, since the tube has to be "re-aligned" to properly match levels.ShaunKorg wrote:That would be my first guess... but that's based on my knowledge of guitar amp tubes.
I don't know why Korg says the tube must be replaced by a service center. It should be easy enough to pop it out and trouble shoot it with a different tube.
I seem to remember someone posted a link to the SV-1 service manual, and the procedure for replacing the tube does indeed involve opening up the whole thing, not just removing the little glass cover (why?). Can;t find the linnk right now, but I'm sure it's here somewhere.
I would say that you can certainly troubleshoot the problem by replacing the tube without bothering with the re-alignment procedure though. It's just to match the gain levels, as far as I can see.
