I don't think 2 modules is ll that it seem scracked up to be.....I considered it too at one time....when you factor in that you will have to use midi to do everything on the 2nd module, it's not anywhere near as appealing of a situation.electro21 wrote:+1...I already have the 88 version, but I'm waiting for the modules to go down in price so I can purchase another one and have 2 modules on one board.biggrime wrote:Good. I have 2 M3-73's connected using midi and I don't see any major issues. Even though I have 2 sets of keys I often only use one of them to play. You can run both modules with the same combi and double the polyphony or use them independently and create an awesome 32 part combi.apex wrote:I don't think 2 modules is ll that it seem scracked up to be.....I considered it too at one time....when you factor in that you will have to use midi to do everything on the 2nd module, it's not anywhere near as appealing of a situation.electro21 wrote:+1...I already have the 88 version, but I'm waiting for the modules to go down in price so I can purchase another one and have 2 modules on one board.biggrime wrote:Good. I also remember that the M3 has 2 dedicated keyboard connectors so although I haven't tried it you should be able to connect the modules that way and leave the midi connector open for other use.
I also connect the modules with SPDIF to route the audio from one module back to the other. That can make for some interesting effect chains.

1. I can use one as a M3/Radias Almost all programs would be radias. maybe one bank for loaded samples. This allows a lot more preset space for the radias. The other M3 will be all EDS presets.
2. 8 karmas and 16 effects
3. looks cool
4. Using 1 M3 as a effect processor for the other M3.
5. Did i say it would look cool?
Bottom line the 2nd M3 would be a totally different board do to the programming I would do to it. I think korg was a guess for doing this and should of kept this idea with kronos. Imaging M3 ans kronos on one keyboard
Making beats is not a hobby it's a life style

I want 2 modules for the sounds and storage. ksounds makes an amazing piano and organ sound. I play live at various churches and I already have custom programs and combis with the standard set of sounds. I want a second module for the ksounds piano, organ, and the other sound set Korg makes. You can download the producer preset data to your M3 and it has over 300 different sounds/combis than the standard set that comes with the M3. With 2 modules, I can have the ksounds organ on the main module with the standard set of sounds, and the ksounds piano on the other with the producer sound set. There is no time to unload and load sounds between songs, so this works great for me and I can have both modules on the same board (which looks better to me and is easier to transport)
