True, it's certainly an option.
Considering the fact that you are working with more than one PC though, it's not exactly ideal.

It does work though so well done.

Plus, it doesnt seem practical to take a wifi extender to a gig.

Nobody transfers files at a gig.

Wow, Sharp, I know you are a long time contributor to this forum and of all people, I expected you to be able to think outside the box. I guess I was wrong.

At my gigs, I usually have the setlist in advance, but sometimes, such as weddings, we misjudge the crowd and have to re-work our set on the spot.
Since I have my laptop hooked up to my kronos anyway, its a lot simpler for me to ftp the kronos pcg file and run ONKSOR to reorder the setlist and then send it back to the kronos, than to use a USB stick.

So for me, using a crossover cable is the perfect solution for transferring data between the kronos and my laptop, but I guess thats just me.

In the future I will just sponge off this forum and keep what I learn and discover on my kronos to myself.

Tmatos57, no-one is saying that your idea is bad, but before you explanation we've failed to see the usefulness of it. A lot of us had never thought of using the FTP in a live situation..
I'd just keep all my PCGs and SNGs on the internal drive or on a memory stick..


Also from a technical point of view, it sounds like you are talking about using the Kronos wirelessly, but this isn't really what you are doing here. You're just connecting it to a laptop which is using wireless for other functions.. A lot of people here want to actually access their kronos wirelessly in the studio without needing a laptop in between as a 'staging area'.
I guess from the first read without your explanation of why, it looks like you are suggesting this as a solution to the above problems, when really it isn't that at all..

Still, using the crossover lead is a great idea for a lot of people who don't want to hook their Kronos up to their router or switch.

I even went to the bother of recording a video and uploading it.
