M3 9 pin Mini Din Needed
Hello all, I need the Interface Cable for the Keyboard and module connection. It's the 9 pin Mini din cable. Does anyone have one that I could buy or know of another source. The places mentioned in the forums have discontinued the item - GC will check with Korg on Mon but that route will take awhile.

You could try phoning these guys, and see if they have or can make you a cable with one right-angle connector. Apart from the connector, it's a standard cable...

What I would do is try the following.
Don't say where you are based, email spares@korg.co.uk and ask them if they have the part in stock and if not whether they can order it from Japan.
If they say they can get it, then email Korg in the US and ask them why Korg UK can still obtain them from Japan and Korg US can't.
Reason I suggest this is I live in the UK and recently needed replacement buttons for my triton extreme. I looked all over the web and was told they were discontinued read a thread about someone in the US not being able to get them, one email to Korg UK and they responded with the price and said they had to get them from Korg Japan so would be a few weeks.
But I don't think korg uk will send to the US, I think they will tell you to speak to Korg US, so if you don't tell them your in the US, Korg UK will at least tell you if they are available.
Bearing in mind the M3 can still be brought brand new here at most music stores, I would be surprised if parts have really been discontinued already.

I emailed Korg Uk, they say its discontinued too. Thought maybe I could get it and send to you.
A bit strange considering the M3 was still in their 2012 catalogue.

It's not from Korg, but I believe this will work

I just ordered one and should have it by the 6th. I'll let you know if/how it worked.

Re: Korg 9 pin Mini din cable
Hello all.
I received the 9 pin mini din cable from Stockcable and it did not fit. the circumference of the metal connector is too large and the pin alignment is off. I eventually thought to take the metal casing off and carefully bent the pins to fit the connector and the M3 worked, so it seems that the pin assignment is the same. However the cable would not stay connected, almost any movement caused it to disengage. Tried taping it and it has lasted so far but packing it to a gig might be problematic. Also cannot lay the module flat because the Stockcable version does not have the right angle.
So while the M3 is working with keybed and module I am still looking for the correct cable from Korg.
thx guys for all of your help. Any more suggestions will always be appreciated.

You'd think Korg would make this easier for something simpler like a cable.
If I've read the service manual right (which I might not have), I THINK the socket on the keybed is this one

here's the circuit diagram bit from the Korg M3 service manual.

Maybe that info is usable by a company that makes custom cables such as http://www.stockcable.com/md9p.shtml (recommended by Hardsync earlier) and such a company can get hold of the right sleeve to fit perfectly?
Alternatively, you could get an electronics repair shop place to replace the din sockets with different ones where cables are available?
Other than that, I'm, out of ideas, sorry.
Still think its pretty poor that a keyboard that I can still get brand new in most UK music stores, the manufacture cant get hold of a cable for it.

It's coming back!!!
Just got off the phone with Korg USA, and the rep told me that the cable was discontinued (I imagined b/c they didn't sell many. I've had the same one for 4+ years). Anywho, she said they are bringing it back b/c of the high demand, but they have to wait for the shipment to come from across the pond. While she couldn't give an exact date, she estimated it would be 6 - 8 weeks before we can order them.
I have been looking at options for getting a 9 pin din cable and found din cable from my old MACMAN interface and it fits perfectly into the M3 Module and send power at least. I hooked up the MACMAN interface to the other end and it's power led and midi receptors lit up. trouble is after examining the cable again there is only 8 pins however there are 9 connector holes on the MACMAN interface. I want to order from this place but am afraid I am heading down a rabbit hole searching for the a compatible cable.
Parts is Parts is out of the cables for now. I signed up on the e-mail list for when they "may" get them back in. Anyone else know a confirmed place to get one that works? I had my finger on the ordering button for the stockable one and then read the above post about it not fitting.

I sent an email to Korg UK and they replied the same day with all the necessary details and had 19 in stock. I rang them and ordered over the phone, they were great. They shipped out the same day to Australia.
In saying that, I don't understand why Korg wouldn't have just used a generic cable? Very annoying.

korg m3 cable
If I rember correctly, when i bought the m3, it did come with a additional cable, i am haveing the same problem, but, I lost it, since I move and can not find the manual and extra cable, one good point is, never disconect the module and hook it up to another keyboard, thats when the problem seems to start, keep the module intacted when you get this fix.
I have to have my service guy repair the cable, and going tp make a a shorter calbe with a right angle connector. hopefully, this will not happen again
Good luck
