Recording via Line in of sound card

Ok guys ive tested using my korg midi keyboards with flstudio, used asio for all. prefect sync, but i want to use the pc to record the korgs sounds via its linein, currently on my built in motherboards sound card, i get some noise, like white noise with computer sounds, this is present on both the line in and microphone and ive tested using different sources so its not the korg setup, + i get no noise from the korgs direct to an amplifier so the noise isnt comming from the korg rig, , im thinking it was the VIA built in sound card was not up to the task, poor ground or something, not really shielded, where as the new one ive purchased has a shield round it, , an asus Xonar D2, im hoping this solves my issue, what do you guys think?

Personally, I would put the audio into something like Audacity and remove the noise.

Yea thats just a dirty workaround, which can also reduce the quality og the overall track, better to get rid of the noise straight away

Very true. But if you set the sensitivity right, you retain the quality. A compressor can also help.
