I'm not an expert at this but I think you should start by setting your Roland to receive on a different midi channel, then change channel 1g to that channel in the Kronos.

i give up, just return to my very old way, i will create Korg User Combination bank 0 - 127 and Roland user bank 01-128, and midi them.

So, you're actually wanting it to send bank/patch info when you recall the combi...that, I can honestly say I've not dealt with. I DO see why, absolutely...and I know how you can using the 3080 in sequencer mode...but, you want it to send the changes on different channels of the around on Combi change.

That's a solid head scratcher. I must know the answer.

So, you're following the procedure on 419 of the Parameter Guide...and the 3080 is in PERFORMANCE mode (not patch or rhythm)...and it's not working?

Make sure you are filtering out sysex from KRONOS in Global mode midi filter. When you change combis, KRONOS is sending some midi message that's causing this issue on XV.

I had similar problems. After i found out about the LSB/MSB thing, i had the problem, that the Roland Synth had the right patch or performace, but didn't produce any sound.

It may sound freaky, but turning off control switch assignments on Kronos, solved all my problems in this matter.

You might try this - hope it helps...

This is explained on page 1102 of the Kronos Parameter Guide. Watch out: the assignment is per Sound...
