+2 Reminds me of one of the quotes from 'Dumb and Dumber'

It's here :)

Had it up and running for 20 mins now.

It's like a different keyboard altogether.

Unless I'm, going mad, the black keys are a completely different texture.

Playing the keyboard the entire feel is completely different, very hard to describe though.

The keys make a completely different noise when they're pressed now, almost sounds like a tiny rubbing sound, but it isn't, it's only as they hit the bottom the noise is there (Probably the rubber contacts making a different sound)

Very very very happy

But I am going to say again that I shouldn't have received that other keyboard and the feel of the two are so completely different, it means two people could buy a Kronos today and effectively get two different keyboards with the same sounds, depending on luck. And that shouldn't be the case.

Al;so when I took it out of the box, there was a screw in the box and an empty screw hole underneath. Now sorted, the others were tight, so I presume a simple oversight.

I also notice the bottom middle of my touch screen makes a squeaky clicking noise when pressed, the rest seems solid, there's a little play in the bottom middle. Still it works (its not like you have to press really hard anyway), probably wouldn't even had noticed it if I hadn't inspected every little detail :)

Anyway, I'm very very happy and am going to go away and play.

I have hade ones with smooth and rough black keys so you are not going mad.

Pink

But it's a completely different feel when the keys hit the contacts, again very hard to explain.

so a new keybed without cutoff doesn't have to be blue.. Mine is pink, and when i bought it it's already on 1.52

Do an intensive test then; chances are that the problem will pop up again, if you´ve still got the pink contacts.

FWIW, mine"s" did.

Korg UK state that my serial number falls within the range of when they started using different contacts and said the colour is irrelevant.

I'm sure I've read on one of the very long keyboard threads on here that someone took theirs for replacement contacts, saw it being done and compared the contacts, new and old, both were pink and both were different.

I really hope that statemen is correct.
JFYI my Korg distrubutor is giving their costumers a different info, I´ve seen how the procedure of changing the contacts works and what conctacts they use for replacing the old ones, and they are using the blue ones.

Would be interested in anyone with an 88 note higher serial than 3600 and those with 88 note Kronos X to see what colour their contacts are.

Just looked at the paper work they included. to quote it.
Replacement Korg Kronos 88
with updated contacts and
upgrade fitted
Seems unlikely they would lie. Whether that statement means they changed the contacts while doing the upgrade, or are just confirming it does have the updated contacts I don't know.

What I do know is I have a 3 year warranty, I'm much much happier with this keybed than the other one, so if I did ever get a problem, I'll only be without it for a week while the contacts are changed.

But it feels so different, I think and hope it is a later one.

My Kronos 88 is number 3671. I was guaranteed that it came with the keybed fix installed, and mine has pink contacts. It was part of a new shipment from Korg after the keybed fix was out there. No problems with it so far.
