Microkorg XL portamento only on key hold?

ok i know this is possible, but i have no idea how to do it, so here goes

Im trying to create a sound where i have a portamento of 16, but i want the portamento to only slide when you press and hold the keys, like if i press and leg go of a note then hit another not higher up, no portamento will happen, however if i hold the note while pressing another note, portamento happens, what setting do i do to do this?

ok ive sussed it partially, intialize, change voice to mono 1, change LFO 1 to wav and key sync to timbre, then assign the first virtual patch to portamento to the lfo 1, them adjust the int to +16, hey presto, only portamento when you hold the keys

now my issue is the int pot only goes up to +63, where as in the actual pitch menu, the portamento is possble to go up to 127, to get the value of 16 portamento using the lfo int, what number shall i use, half the value? say 8
