Kaossilator Pro MIDI Control problem?

Post by guru »

Is there any way to get Kaossilator Pro to obey Midi Control messages such as Start and Stop? Syncing MIDI clock is good but K-Pro does not start nor stop with other devices. Any advice?

Sadly, he's right. The K-Pro is bad enough to use with most MIDI applications, let alone CC messages. Sorry mate.

Thankyou for your replies. All I can do is try to catch the beat with my hands I guess...

I am disapointed in this lacking functionality, especially as the main reason to get this Pro device over the Kaossilator is MIDI functionality.

Now I've had a good chance to explore the Pro, I also find the Midi Controller function to be rather basic too. With notes played left to right, it would be good to be able to program the up and down parameter, but it just has left to right.

Korg Dev Team, if you do ever see this post, 2 things are needed, in order:
1. MIDI Control - Start & Stop as a basic
2. Programmable Parameter for Y-Axis in Midi Controller Mode

Surely it can't be that hard for an update?

If you use a MIDI translator you can probably (after a long time figuring out the parameters) map the mod wheel to the Y-axis and the keyboard to the X-axis. I've seen it done by Nick Batt of Sonic State: http://www.sonicstate.com/news/2010/02/ ... ayability/

Though, learning how to play it live is very interesting. No matter your opinion of her, Ke$ha has nearly mastered playing the K-pro on a large necklace in her live shows.
