Need Professional Help regarding the Pa500ORT & PA800

Post by MlogicZ »

Hi friends,

I have been researching and asking and trying to solve this issue for about a month, and I mean day after day consecutively, with no solution as of yet.
I am hoping some of you can collaborate in giving me a hand here.
I'm a semi-new Korg arranger user and still have not discovered all the ins and outs of the system and it's capabilities.

This is the situation. 3years ago I had purchased a brand new Korg PA500ORT to perform arabic music with my father who sings and plays the oud on stage. All worked out well, and I have a set that I customized and grown to adapt to and love so much!

Now, I moved to another state and my uncle had purchased a Korg PA800 in which he is allowing me to use in the mean time, I left my 500ORT at home.

But I did take with me a backup of my 500ORT set, as well as a backup of the OS Resources from the UTILITY tab in the MEDIA menu.

What I am trying to do, is load all the sounds from my 500ORT set into this brand new factory 800. But when I do, I get alot of errors, the styles do not play the correct drums, I'm missing alot of sounds such as the kanoun, zurna and mejwez; when I select a performance, no sounds play. All sorts of issues.

How can I convert the musical resources (according to my month long research) of the PA500ORT to load into the PA800 and continue where I left off with the PA500ORT?

Please give me some clear concise directions step by step, I would love ANY help to help me solve this problem. There's nothing more in the world that I would love then for my 50ORT set to work on this 800

Hello,

Unfortunately there is way you can use your set that was made for Pa500 ORT in Pa800. The reason is that your set is using the drum kits and oriental sounds that are unique to Pa500 ORT. These drum kits and sounds do not exist in the other keyboards.

Your best option is to either buy an Arabic set. Or, if you do not want to spend any money, there are several free Arabic sets available on the internet. Some of the styles in the free sets work well and with some you have to reassign the drum kits.

There is also a package available from Audiominds.net in Lebonan that converts the Pa800 into an oriental keyboard. The price is reasonable. I think is only around $100. There are also other sources for Arabic sets like the famous Ahmad Khalaf set. I am sure there are others. Do some searching on the internet.
