Select a sample to edit WITHOUT playing it?

Post by austingreen »

Sorry had a typo in the title, hope that clears it up...

If I have a few samples on hold playing and I want to edit a different sample than my current or last sample triggered, is there a way to select a different sample as my current sample without it playing or making any sound?

Well you can work on other samples using the editor, while playing back the unit independently. You can audition/play editor samples on screen without having to load them into the MS. Not sure why that wouldn't suffice.

The MS has quite a few limitations & doesn't fit everyone's workflow but it is not 'no good' per se.

I have to say I find my Electribe ESX more immediate & physically sexy but the MS eats it alive on sound quality.

While your samples are on HOLD, you can go to kboard mode , select the key/sample you want (with the select wheel) then you can edit and do the modification you want... I'm tired of people who blame the machine... No offence :)

If you have another MIDI keyboard connected, you can use the microSampler's keyboard for selecting & editing samples while you continue to play on the other MIDI keyboard.

Pressing a note on the external MIDI keyboard does not select the sample for editing or affect the selecting of options.

Just another method, but you will still hear the sound unless you change its velocity sensitivity and press the key softly.

So awful that I have two, and am seeking to buy two more. :) Are you considering selling?
