New to the forum, not new to Korg

Post by tcwild »

Hey all, just as a way of introduction I've been playing music all of my life (I'm 62 now). Classic training on piano for seven years starting at age 4, moving on through many years of trumpet, self-taught on drums with many years and several good rock bands playing percussion. Always came back to the piano, and with the advent of the Korg M1 I was hooked.

Being a bit of a computer geek, having the M1 (bought new in '94) is just a natural progression, and led me to the Korg SP250 which I adore. Play with your eyes closed and you just know you're playing a baby grand.

I've been through a couple of iterations of PC hardware, and very recently migrated from an XP/P4 machine running Cool Edit to a dual-core AMD/Vista machine running MTStudio Pro. I'm also in the process of acquiring a Roland Sound Canvas SC50 to enhance the patch variations so I can play a little more seriously.

Recording on computers began for me in about 2003, and there are some examples online I'll provide a link to at some point.

Good to be here. :)
