How creat a clean loop with a kaosspad 2

Post by honolulu »

Hello,

I have lot of difficulties to record a clean loop, evry time I have a scratch or an overdub.

It's realy difficult, I spend lot of time with that (some time it's impossible)

Do you have a solution or a tips ?

Thanks,

There will be a pop at the loop point whenever there's a mismatch in the audio level between the start or end of the loop. In a live performance, most listeners won't notice this, but you can minimize the pop by having clean audio sources with low noise levels, and always starting and cutting between beats. However, if you can set up the loops in advance, then it's relatively easy to clean up the loops by sending the audio to an editor so that you can eliminate any extra dead audio space at the start of the loop, remove any excess noise, and match the levels at the start and end to eliminate any pop. You need to practice your timing and recording to get clean loops on live samples. I suggest watching Beardyman on youtube. Another secret is to practice making shorter 4 beat samples, so that any pop just sounds like it's part of the beat that occurs for every measure, instead of doing longer loops were the pop stands out more. Notice that Beardyman is also constantly resampling between multiple KP3s, so that the beat is always evolving. The audience usually won't notice the loop point pop/clicks if you combine these techniques and don't let the pop distract you. Keep the music evolving.

Thx, 4 beat is more easy to loop.
