Krome distortion issue wihin the sounds

Post by morty »

Maybe it was the SD card I used but something in my Krome got off kilter
and many of the the patches(progrm mode & comb) were filled with distortion and were not playing properly
I reset back to factory and everything was back to normal. Anyone else experienced this problem?

Morty,

Can you describe what you were doing with the SD card that you think it might have been responsible for messing up the internal sounds?

If you were trying to load samples (per some other threads) I could see where it might be an issue, also if you were attempting to cross-load from another platform there might be some compatibility issues depending on what the FX and wave form orders are.

.PCG files are not always compatible between machines even tho they have the same extension, so loading a Triton.pcg file for example, might possibly cause some weirdness because parameters are not in the same number or order.

Im not sure Bill thats what it was ...my wife gave me an old SD card so I could try to record on it (she formatted it before giving it to me) but after doing some recording on playback many of my patches were distorting even after taking out the card and I couldnt get the sounds to sound normal until I factory restored the whole lot. It was really weird I thought my new Krome was needing repair. But its fine now... Ill give it another try with a new SD card and experiment.

I just ran into something like this the other day. No SD card was involved. My 73 had been up for probably 2 hours. I had "programming" it basically the whole time (making combis, tweaking patches and writing them, etc.) I was selecting either a fast or motion synth (bank D) for a combi. When playing, it sounded distorted, like it was over-driven. This happened on several synth patches. I was really annoyed. I rebooted the board and went back to the same tones and they were fine. So, reboot fixed it, but definitely a bug in there.
