Bank Patch Change doesn't respond Er-1

Post by jackasspenguin »

I'm using Sonar X2. I've tried every possibility to change patches with the bank/patch drop down. Nothing I've tried does squat. I can change the patch in the drop down selector in the track. I just got this ER-1 a few days ago. I've never really used a drum machine before. I've been able to input midi events and got it to produce a beat in that manner. Since I finally got it to sync with Sonar, now I want to try and change it's sounds on the fly with a patch change. I'll probably go back to not having it synchronized so it doesn't play the internal patterns. But again, being able to change the patches might be cool. I dunno. How do you guys use this thing?

I don't have an ER-1, but my ESX has a MIDI Filter that controls transfer of Program changes, Control changes, system-exclusive Event changes, and Note Data. Check the manual to find this filter and enable the "P" for program changes, then save it.

The default setting is 000 to let all changes go through and that's what it's set to currently. I can change the patch in the track header. It just doesn't change in the timeline when I instruct a bank patch change. It does appear in the even log. It just doesn't happen when I play the project. From my understanding, the manual states that a setting off 000 will allow midi messages of any sort as opposed to _ _ _ or blank which wouldn't allow any changes. Hmmm,
