Usual price of nano products

Post by Bertotti »

I don't remember what the usual price the noon products are. I ask because Insee the nano pad 2 and nano kontrol2 are at 59$. Is his the normal price? I bought they were closer to 70 or 75 each. Thanks Bertotti

Back when I purchased an original nanokey a few years ago it cost $49.99 and I'm pretty sure the others were the same price. I don't remember them ever being up in the $70 range. It looks like the nano key is still $49.99 while the price of the pad and kontrol has gone up.

The kontrol and pad seem more useful to me so a price increase would make sense although not welcome.

Hmm I went and checked it was some odd ball ebay or amazon deal that had the high price. I think I will put this off for awhile. I still need to figure out what I want to do for a second board, and pay off this Kronos!

Getting off the topic here but I'm curios what you are considering for a second board.

Great question! I have no idea! Obviously from a couple other threads where I asked questions I was thinking about a controller. Mainly for travel. My MBr and a little SL25mk2 would be nice but I'm not sold. Everytime I get close I learn more of what I don't know!

I had thought long Korg midi them on and out together and use the KK filters with the Kronos or Kronos tones in the KK then I read about midi loop and realize I can't make a solid choice until I learn midi and its capabilities and draw backs, better. I was thinking stage 2 or DSI Prophet 8 or 12, mopho, mopho x4, kind of cool x theme, a moog little phatty or subphatty. But each has a positive and negative and I am not sure which will provide the most unique and complimentary tone. Then again back to controllers. Wait for a dog kronos to come up on eBay and fix it myself. I am sure I won't make a solid choice anytime soon. And I will probably drive everyone nuts with questions.

The only thing I know for sure is I don't know enough to mak a good decision now. I am leaning heavily towards the King Korg or Sub Phatty. Moog has been a dream tone of mine since the beginning so a moog is inevitable but I don't know that I want it to be my second board?

I need some midi manuals first and I need to get a solid working knowledge of the Maschine and Kronos. I realized today I can't eve make a dubstep acid type tone I am after so I need to learn synthisist and my gears capabilities before I make the next step.

Any of that make sense? Long post probably sorry you asked now! Lol
Thanks for asking!

So you have no idea yet what you want for your next board. I'm still undecided myself.

So far its between a Prophet 12 and a JP-80 with the Prophet out in front. The Sub Phatty and MS-20 Mini look good just to have 100% analog mono in the mix for fun. I have warmed up to the KK but it doesn't bring enough for me.

The only thing about the KK I would like are the filters! The prophet 12 was almost mine. If my wife hasn't thrown out the Kronos packaging it would have been returned for one. I love it but the fan was a deal breaker now I'm stuck getting it fixed.

Believe it or not I have even given the micro arranger a look. It does do some things Kronos doesn't for a much smaller price. I am sure I will have a small controller first but the second board, well I think I will wait untill next NAMM but the DSI is a serious contender. I may look for a used board as well. A Nord Wave might be cool.

Those darn wives
You said you were looking at the Micro Arranger ... I'm not looking at that one myself but also looking at other smaller things in the same range to integrate. Problem is that there are so many choices this year after Namm and Musikmeese. But I'm not complaining.

It isn't a serious contender, in the end I may just go for a controller. But a good controller is a large part of the way to a price of another synth, be it a sub phatty or little phatty or the new Roland, or something DSI. I just start wondering if another board would be a better move then just a controller. That is going to be my first hurdle, there is so much in a Kronos is another board needed? I find so much in there I think in many respects a controller would be a fine choice.
