lines have appeared on my touchscreen
Suddenly, I have a cyan line running down the center of my touchscreen and a purple one on the far left. Rebooting, recalibration, LCD setup all have no effect. Any suggestions how to investigate or fix this problem?

That's definitely an optimistic diagnosis! Either way, it's something that should be taken care of with an authorized service location.
Good luck with the screen!

Most likely connection between screen and motherboard got loose. Must be a small issue.

The problem began suddenly the first time I used my gig bag and carried the Kronos upright instead of flat. I didn't go anywhere, it was just to test the gig bag. Perhaps it merely shook something out of position. So am I going to have to install the original SSD before delivering it for repair?

I insist what I said. Not need to be worried.JimmyTheSaint wrote:The problem began suddenly the first time I used my gig bag and carried the Kronos upright instead of flat. If you've installed an ssd yourself then you have voided your warranty. If you want to reinstall the original ssd and hope that the service center don't notice that it has already been removed and reinstalled then that's fine. But coming on to the forums and telling everyone that and hoping that no one from the service center or Korg sees your post isn't a very smart move!

As you've done a self install and feel confident with all that is involved with that process, the immediate option is to check for any loose connection and rectify it.
As far as warranty is concerned,in theory it has been voided......but.....here in the UK,Korg UK service center has stated to a dealer if any faults that occur were not
related to any subsequent owner's own doing, will be judged on merit and warranty repair work "may" be considered,at their discretion.
Which could mean that if an owner doesn't damage the Kronos while undertaking internal work, like adding a memory card for example,KorgUK would consider honoring the warranty.
To my knowledge, this has yet to be proven and has only a slim chance of being successful, but perhaps worth trying as a last resort, even with any Korg service center.
The bottom line here though,is that owners are not supposed to open their Kronos at any time....regardless !!.....(Er..Umm...???).
Good Luck.

I agree with Pedro and with Bugra. First of all, if this only happened after putting into a gig bag there's a very good chance that this is simply a loose cable. If you're going to pursue repairing with an authorized repair center I would inquire first if there's a possibility that they'll honor the warranty even after upgrading the drive. It's a slim chance but it can't hurt to ask. You'll probably be referred to Korg customer care and may need to get some sort of reference number or RMA code.
The other option is to try it out yourself. It may not be immediately obvious which cable is loose but you can reseat as many cables as you think may be candidates in the hope that the law of averages wins out. That said, I never recommend working on your own unit whether in or out of warranty (
) but, if you're adventurous (or desparate), remember you didn't hear it from me!
Good luck with whichever avenue you decide to pursue. Cheers!

Korg service UK have told me that opening the Kronos would definitely void my warranty in the UK.pedro5 wrote:As you've done a self install and feel confident with all that is involved with that process, the immediate option is to check for any loose connection and rectify it.

Yes,of course they would say that to us directly, as it's the "official line" and there is no real argument with that.
My comments were to provide an indication of the possibility that going through a dealer for repairs, could involve some discretion by a service center.....well,maybe..??
Worth trying to approach the dealer rather than Korg directly.....(we're meant to anyway) as a last resort.
The only snag being that once the unit is at the repair center, they will want to repair it anyway and if not under warranty a charge will be made...ouch
I do hope it's just a loose connection and can be rectified by the owner.
Best Wishes.
