Cannot add R3 kb to R3 Sound Editor (not detecting)

Post by Function Key »

Hi to all,

I just got a used R3 and I enjoy it very much. I installed and ran the USB - MIDI drivers and R3 Sound Editor and when I click Option - Preferences, R3 is not listed in the MIDI connections.

My R3 is detected by the computer because it is listed in device manager. Also

Tried rebooting but that didn't do also... :(

My Windows SP1 is current in it's updates, I don't know where else to look..can anyone help?

Thanks in advance

First of all, don't use any of the software that came with the hardware in the box. Download the lastest versions from Korg's website.

Run the Uninstall Korg USB-midi device application. Remove the Korg device and any non-working midi drivers or any that you don't need. The Korg USB-midi devices must be located in midi0 to midi9. Sometimes they get installed in midi10+ and will not work properly if that occurs. Then run the Install Korg USB-midi device application to add the R3 as a device to the driver. Then run the Uninstall app again just to confirm where it's located.

Then try the editor software again.
