R3: Problem with Parameter Knob Lights

Post by alamo12 »

Hi all. I've had my r3 for about two years now and just recently the lights around the 4 parameter knob started to act odd. For example, when I turn knob 2 the lights around knob 1 move. Knobs 3 and 4 interact with each other in strange ways. The lights around knob 3 are for both knobs from values 0-68. After the parameter reaches 69, the lights around knob 4 start to illuminate. The values still go from the proper 0-127 and the correct parameter is still affected. The machine hasn't been moved from its position in the past 6 months except for a couple of books placed underneath to give it a larger angle.

I attempted a factory reset and turning the power on and off, both produced no results. Has anyone else had this problem? Does anyone have any suggestions?

Sounds really bizarre. Was it especially dry or humid? Could an issue with the insulation somewhere in the circuit between them.
