Power Korg SR1 (SOS) with 5v?

Power Korg SR1 (SOS) with 5v?

I know it says 4.5v on the body and in the blurb, but is anyone here powering their Korg SR1 with 5v? It's not a lot more voltage, and the difference might well be dissipated by the internal circuitry. I'm asking because I want to use the device in a vehicle and it's easy to convert 12v to 5v.
