Importing audio into ikaoscillator app iPad

Hi! Need some help as I'm frustrated and stuck.
Wanting to import samples from an iTunes folder which I've already synced and placed onto iPad.
From there, after I've launched my ikaoscillator app and tapped the appropriate music section I'm seeing the shared folder marker but nothing shows. No file. Am I doing something wrong?

I think the files for import have to be .wav files.

Thanks! Hopefully not sounding silly but how do I ensure the files in my in my itunes are WAVs?

You can either convert your files to wav using itunes, or import wav directly into itunes, and then sync your device. You can also copy/paste wav files from another app into iKaosilator.
