Edited factory style tempo and track volume

Post by Thanarath »

Hello everyone,
After I have changed the factory style tempo and adjusted a track volume then write the style to a Favorite/User bank with a new name. When I select the new style I just edited it from the User bank, the Tempo and that track volume default back to the original factory style.

Before I did that, I unlocked and turned off all style protections from Global-Media Preferences and Media-General Controls-Lock page, pretty much all locks and safeties I could find and turned them off and unchecked.

Here is my details:
Pa3x 76 OS 1.6 (updated from 1.11, did Factory Restore after updated)

Here are the steps I did:
1. Selected a "Modern Beguine" from a "Latin Dance" bank.
2. Pressed the "Record" button to bring up the Style/Pad Record.
3. Selected "Record/Edit Current style", OK.
4. Pressed the "record2 Cue" tab on the bottom left.
5. Selected the "DRUM" track, touched the tempo then changed it from 122 to 135.
6. Pressed the "START/STOP" button to start the recording while the track is recording I played "COWBELL" in quarter note and waited after it recorded 8 measures then pressed the "START/STOP" button again to stop.
7. Selected the "ACC1" track then changed the volume level from 84 to 70 and then pressed the "START/STOP" button again to stop.
8. Pressed the drop down menu on the top right corner, then selected "Write Style".
9. Selected the Style Bank U01: User 1, Changed the Name to "Test1" then OK to write to that User bank slot.
10. Pressed the "RECORD", "YES" to confirm to exit.

Please correct me if there is something that I missed or did not do to create my user style from modifying the factory style.

Note: The COWBELL did recorded and played back fine from the DRUM track.

Why the new "Tempo" and the "Track Volume" did not save to a new user style?

Thank you for your help,

Hi Tanarath,

When you adjust a style, you'll copy the "style setting" that are connected with that style when saving it. So you are almost done.
Just recall your adjusted style, change the tempo to 135, change acc1 to 70 and press the pull-down button in the upper-right corner in the display and press "Write Current Style Settings". Now your new style settings are recalled when you choose this style again.
No need to unlock anything when saving user styles.

To put more simply:
AFTER exiting from style record mode, make volume and tempo changes, and THEN go to the drop down menu and check "write current style settings".

Just so you know: The volume of tracks are not saved in style record mode. Only after exiting and doing the above.
