How do I do this? Making Àbleton play my R3

Hey there,

new here. I recently bought an R3, trying to step my producer game up

Really satisfied with it! I have been trying to figure out how I can send MIDI from Ableton to make it respond to the R3's audio output.
What I did so far is create a MIDI track and select the R3 as MIDI Output. There is also an AUDIO track which plays the sounds of the R3. This only happens when I play the keys on the R3 tho and not when I play the MIDI in Ableton.

Any advice how to do this? I'm relatively new to the tech stuff.

Are you sure the midi-in on the R3 is set to the same midi-out as Abelton??

Example; Abelton midi-out is channel 1 so the R3 needs to be on that same channel.

If I am reading what you wrote correctly that's what you want to attempt?? Midi from abeltons sequencer to play the notes on the R3??

Yea! I looked into it a bit more and set the channels right and MIDI Out to R3 Sound instead of R3 MIDI Out (which kinda makes sense now

)
