Stacking up a 2nd board

Post by mantrak »

SV-1 certianly looks sexy, but the shape makes stacking another keyboard on top impossible. You can put one X stand above it but it somehow does not look right.

The original stand looks stable enough for stacking up a fairly light keyboard, say up to 5 kg without additional support. So I am thinking of a 2nd keyboard stand using the holes for the music stand. It should support only the back end. The front edge can be supported with a band of velcro.

Such "semi-stand" could be pretty simple to build. Unfortunately I am not a very handy person...

Has anyone else played with this idea?

I have the Korg SV-1 stand, but I use a two tier stand (Quiklok double-braced X-stand) when I need to stack another board on top of the SV-1.

Personally, I wouldn't load any significant weight on those music-stand holes - they're designed to take the weight of a flimsy plastic stand and a couple of books only.
