adjusting Zero 8 setup (channel gain) without touchpad

Post by jahreed »

Hello -
been following the zero8 conversations here for a while - decided a current issue would be good to post.

I am having issues with the input levels for my analog 1/4" connections (unbalanced)

the level on the cd/line input on the same channels appears to be much hotter (should be equivalent no?)

basically i have the gains up to 100% and they are still not close to 0 db while the rca input drives the same channel hot at 12 oclock

I would love to go into the setup and identify the current level of this input but - alas - i only know how to get there from the touchpad...
and mine is hosed like most users.

is there any way to access these functions without the touchpad?

is there a way to access and program the mixer via Midi SYSEX over the firewire connection?

this issue might force me to pop the machine open and explore resoldering the touchpad as the levels are truly unusable.

thanks!

Hi,

I looked if zero edit could edit the functiones you need, but can't.
It seems the only way to access it are through the touch screen :(

No, because nominal level TRS: +4 dBu and RCA: -10 dBu

It was laborious but some time ago i used two potentiometers and a button to "simulate" the touch pannel.
I recommend to buy a new one.

Another way would be to change the values of the 10k resistors
on the NE5532 inputs. (for channel 1 it is R220 and R203)
