Has anyone else had a song pulled from Soundcloud because of alleged copyright violation? It seems like some kind of scam to me. (Not Soundcloud but the filer of the violation.) They don't tell you who filed the violation but require you to give your name, address, and phone number to counter dispute. Then in the fine print it says they can provide the information to the party filing the violation. The track was created 2 years ago all in ims-20 and is definitely all original. Not even using preset sounds. I thought it was labelled private but I guess not.
Since Soundcloud pulled it I have go back and pull a backup from my desktop computer.

Yeah, Soundcloud did pull it. It turns out they scan all the hosted files even if its marked private. Whatever software they use to scan must be pretty bad as the song they said it copied sound nothing like what I had done. My counter dispute was successful and they reposted.
I'm making sure I back up all my songs locally in the future.

SoundCloud uses software that scans all uploads and compares them to a licensed song DB. I had one contested recently and on inquiry found the track that that I was in supposed violation of. Sounded nothing like mine, but the software thought so. I contested it through the proper channels and my track went back up the next day.
