Try this. I'm using the PA3X with a digitech vocalist workstation and the Bose LI ModelII. Just follow the prompts to Music then Bandmix and select a song. I'm 72 years old.

Yes please more !!!!

I would love to hear more from all Korg arrangers especially the older i3's, i30's, Pa80, etc....... We seem to get caught up in the ''latest and greatest" and forget how good some of the older boards were.

KORG i3

Many years ago, my local music retailer called me and said "get yourself down here and have a listen to this new arranger keyboard...".
So I went and there it was - The Korg i3 - before allowing me to touch it he simply played the Big Band style and that was all I needed to hear - ordered one on the spot.

The Korg i3 had amazing styles - below is a link to one of my sequences from the i3 using its "Backing Sequencer" feature which unfortunately is no longer in the current PA models.

This is a short medley from West Side Story using the Big Band style of the i3:-

(I still love and use that style on my PA3X - together with several other i3/i30 styles)

Cheers

These songs were recorded live with microphone input into my Digitech Vocalist 4 and then out put to audio in on the PA 80

PA 800 Song

Post by KORG80 »

This past winter I rented a PA 800 to see what the upgraded and retooled PA arranger had to offer. I was inspired enough to write a whole CD using the 800. I really liked the capability to step on a footswitch and bring in the onboard TC Helicon harmonies but with the harmony being not as good as what I'm used to from my Digitech Vocalist 4 pedal, the purchase price of the PA 800 was just too high. Here's one of my PA 800 songs with the built in TC Helicon harmony.

Vocal Harmony

Post by KORG80 »

I mentioned in the previous posts that I use vocal harmony in my songs. When I started searching for a unit to work with my PA 80 my research led me to lust over TC Helicon's Voice Live 2 which was about $1200 Canadian about 4 years ago. Helicon is regarded as the "flagship" in the world of vocal/harmony processing. While renting the Digitech Vocalist 4 the store called and offered to let me borrow the TC VL2 for a day. Head to head the Digitech came out the clear winner for what I do so I saved myself $800 and have been more than happy with the vocalist. If you're not sure that I know what I'm talking about listen to the harmonies in these two songs. They were recorded by inputing the Vocalist into the AUX In of my new
Yamaha PSR S750.

BEATLES https://soundcloud.com/wsyakfisher-1/this-boy and

Micheal Murphy's WILDFIRE

Short of having real singers it doesn't get any better than this IMHO.
