Hi,
I am a 59 year old retired Navy Electronics tech. I just put away my old Yamaha PSR-270 (MIDI ports, no USB or SD), for the KORG MicroArranger.
So far I love the sounds, but am struggling with the OS and dozens of buttons.
I am an amateur singer and guitar player who can play a few chords, but not fast enough for a performance. I am disabled with Parkinson's Disease, and the meds make me silly sometimes. (Some would say I was born silly...)
I will post my questions and comments in the (Hopefully) appropriate section.
Thanks to all the people here who share their knowledge.
Greetings from the Great Northwest USA!

Hey Will!

Hi Rod!
What a co-inky dink! guess it is a small world after all...
I am Kitsap county near Port Orchard. Are you in Tacoma area?
What kind of music do you like? I appreciate all type of music as long as it is well written and performed, but like many our age I prefer the sixties and 70's. Singer-songwriters, folkies, classic rock, all the Usual Suspects.
What did you do with your studio 10 years ago? Did you record yourself or others?
I am pretty disabled these days, in fact I was having so much pain in my right shoulder I thought about visiting the Emergency Room for the second time in my life. The first was in 2010 when I had acute appendicitis (removed).
THen in 2011 I was diagnosed with PD, and also severely torn rotator cuffs in both shoulders. The left was the worst and I had it replaced in July 2012. Now I am going to see the same surgoen on Tuesday to see about having the right shoulder replaced. He already tried to fix it but the cuffs were completely gone. I torn them both in 2004 lifting weights.
Also have painful Neuropathy in my feet, which makes it difficult to stand or walk for more that 10-20 minutes.
Sorry if this is Too Much Information, the meds I am on make me talk too much...
Maybe if we have common musical tastes we should meet someday, somewhere. I will warn you that I have been a recluse, keeping to myself (and my wife) for the past 20 years, social skills are not my strong suit.

Keep Keepin' on
Will,
Sounds like things have been challenging for you. Hang in there.
For me,,, busy as all get out with family and school. I'm a Special Ed teacher, who's now scratching out the time to get back to the music. Was in a band for 22 years till family stuff needed more of me. Used my studio for rehearsals and building demo/performance tracks, also a solo project. So, just trying to sneak back toward spending some time playing again. We'll see how that works out. I'm currently having some issues with my KORG M3R sound mod, and hoping someone on the "Synths General" can help. We'll see.
Anyway,,,, Keep keepin' on, and hope things work out.
