My Pa3X keys are making rubbing noise when playing.

Post by Thanarath »

Hello Everyone,

Does anyone have a defective key or keys on your Korg Pa3X 76? whether it is new or used keyboard.

My 4 months old, bought a brand new from a local music store, is having two black keys sound like a plastic rubbing the metal spring when pressing down the key or when pushing the key to the left or to the right.

It is sounds like I need to call Korg customer support for the service, but I just need to ask anyone here in this forum who has more experience on this product.

Those two black keys are C#4, and F#4.

Thank you for any advices,

Thanarath

Please forgive me of the poor quality of the video and not horizontal view, I shot it with a smartphone, please just pay attention to the noise.

Here is the Youtube link:

I also sent two e-mails to Korg USA, one for customer service and the other to customer support requesting service for this problem and not working (dead) backup battery too and still waiting for their reply.

Don't worry this is not a real issue !
That has happened to some mates , and usually this can be caused when pressing sharp keys with angles <>90 degrees
and as resultant , suspension spring injures a bit the plastic mounting hole of those keys.
Elimination of that keys creaking can be achieved with the use of some synthetic grease between those springs and keys !
Taking for granted that Pa3X keybed is a bit noisy , this interference can easily turn it to a very quiet keybed !
Normally service will follow this tip !

Video is crystal clear of what exactly is the problem !

As concerning to Pa3X battery , all of you must get used that batteries and especially NiOH , are expendable parts
and all of you will soon replace it and when you're under guarantee , just unplug it and go to your dealer for free
replacement , while meantime be tolerant with long booting time of your custom samples !

The only thing I recently worry about , is that some Pa3X of 300.XXXX products series , have issue
with charging their battery from first purchasing day ... I'll let you know later for further details !

Hello friends,

My Pa3X had a sticker on the shipping box said battery has been updated from a factory. It just went dead on October 22, 2013 when I notice that the blinking LED on the standby power button on the front of the keyboard.
When I check the battery status it said Battery Status fails "Battery is damaged. Please, replace it."

I always keep the power cord plug in and practice every day.

About the serial number mine is started with 600XXXX.

Thanks all for your input,
Thanarath

Hi, thanksfor your hint, it cooled me down, i thought i had bought a faulty PA3X.

Is it something i can do myself? Do i have access to the spring to lubricate them once i open the Keyboard?

If out of guarantee , then when you take out upper cover , you have a direct access to springs !
