Been playing with this a little bit.
For me, it seems to be tied to midi channel 15 (which is a place to start)
If I have my Triton set to midi channel 15 I can get the same results - actually I have to hit the same notes I have in the chord and they go off. And it does seem that the note off is causing that.
But - if I change the Triton to any other midi channel the problem goes away and it acts like I would expect.
This can be seen with even a simpler setup. (at least for me) Any sound I tested on the global channel, will be turned off if I hit the same keys with my Triton sending channel 15 messages.
Seems weird - question of course is, what is so special about channel 15 or is it a bug.
Changing the midi channel might be enough to give you a workaround for now.

I was just thinking - Korg's workstations always transmit on the Global channel. Even if you're using a different channel in the sequencer or especially an EXT timbre in combi mode.
So it's possible in certain loopback situations or when using another Korg workstation as a controller, to get interference of notes and controllers on the global channel.

It looks like there's a bug here: note-offs from MIDI input seem to go to the Global channel as well as the specified channel. I'll post again when I have more information.

I noticed this issue crop up on a gig last night. Controller board was on MIDI channel 2, Kronos MIDI/Global on channel 1.
Holding sustained string notes on the Kronos and playing rhythmic chords on an EP on the controller. As soon as I hit the same note on the controller as the note I was sustaining on the Kronos, the Kronos stopped sounding until I re-triggered and wasn't playing the same note on the other keyboard.
It was repeatable. If I avoided the same note by changing the chord voicing on the controller, it no longer became an issue. So I agree there is a bug here.

I am curious how you are causing that to happen? The issue here is while holding a chord and external controller is sending a note off that gets through and stops the chord from playing. Where is the note off coming from in a combi?SorenL wrote:Hi
The noteoff issue also happens in combi mode without any external midi connection. So the Kronos i useless with the new OS.

When I played 2 notes quicly after its other the last note didn't sound. But after I have turned the power off/on the problem is no longer there. Yeah, any idea on when this will be sorted ?
I noticed this at a gig the other night, no one there noticed anything different except me anyway .. ha ha haaa but at least i got to find out who won "shell lubricant distributor of the year award" .. Exciting stuff eh ..
Thing is though,
It's been a week now, if it gets left any longer then Roland will think it is a new innovation and will start implementing it into their next generation of workstations
