we are having fun. When a " Preset machine god" shows up here, it can be a source of ( very) cheap entertainmentSanderXpander wrote:Soooo many things wrong with gp's arguments but come on, guys, he's just a troll. There will be no convincing him, we all know why we do have a Kronos and my professional music business is not altered in any way by him not liking it. He's just here to try to annoy people and laugh when they respond. Save yourself the effort.

But for EDM music, why would you buy a workstation? It's a much better choice to buy the synths that are used in that style, like VSTs as Massive, Predator, etc.. EDM hardware synths range from the cheap Novation basslines till the expensive moog voyager series. These are all synths that are dedicated to creating fat bassline and dirty leadsounds out of the box.
That doesn't mean that workstations like the Kronos or Motif can't do it. Of course they can do those type of sounds, but you need to program them yourself and have some basic till advanced understanding of sounddesign and how hardware and VST effects are used to get the EDM sound that you hear in the scene.
So do yourself a favor and check out synths like:
- NI Massive
- RP Predator
- Virus TI
- Moog Voyager
- Novation Bass station II
- Nord Lead 4
Those are loaded with presets that you will recognise so you get that instant sound you are familiar with
I missed this post lol, oh well... That explains his attitude a bit...godparticle wrote:EDM is the biggest genre in the world, all the many different forms it manifests in, and it makes the biggest money, it's all over TV, it's all over the clubs, it's all over the charts, it's right across the world, and the biggest names in the bizz are making it, including hardcore Hip-Hop heads, so start talking facts matey.
