Who else on the board has an O1/Wfd besides me?

Post by RINGO »

Hey Guys

Do any of you guys still have the O1/Wfd, My O1/Wfd is in perfect shape, not a mark on it. I have over 2000+ demo of idea's on floppy disks from using that keyboard. One of my favorite sounds in the BlueMoon guitar, I notice alot of the O1/Wfd sound are on the Triton Studio. Korg should reproduce all of the keyboard sounds they ever produced and make PCM sound cards of the complete O1/Wfd, T1, M1, I series, Wavestation, TrinityV3 and Triton Studio and put them all in a new Workstation keyboard or as an option.

The O1/W has some of the hottest sounds to produce music with. So let us not forget out the O1/W 8)

Peace.

Ringo

Hi Ringo

Do any of you guys still have the O1/Wfd, My O1/Wfd is in perfect shape,

The 01w is my main keyboard I've had it from new (1992) I love it for it's string patches (massive). It's in fair shape as it has been gigged rather alot and my mate dropped his M1 on it in the studio and broke a couple of keys. I also had to strip it down to replace the EL back light a few months ago, but it works fine now.

Hey John I envy you with all those cards man ;) I am just thinking about three 01w's all playing at the same time :o I think I'm going to fall off my chair LOL ;D.

Hey Sharp! it's nice to see you down here in the basement talking 01w things ;)

Best

Spud

LOL…. Hey, I’ve always been an 01W/fd user at heart. The 01W/fd is responsible for many changes in my live. With that workstation I left the Arranger world behind, and started writing music. I made a small fortune with my 01W/fd.

To be honest, I’d love to have a Racked version for the Strings, bass and Synth Choir sounds.

Hey…. Anyone of you guys got a copy of Tele disk. I still have all my 01W/fd disks and I’d love to share my sequences with you all.

Granted… I may have only been a little kid at the time, but from a young age I was pretty handy on the keys. ;)

Sharp.

Hey Sharp

I’ve always been an 01W/fd user at heart.

Glad to see you still have a soft spot for the 01w ;D

I made a small fortune with my 01W/fd.

I'd be interested in how you did that Sharp 8)

Anyone of you guys got a copy of Tele disk

I have not heard of this Sharp is it like disk image? I would summise that it translates 01w data into a format for transfer across the net, yes? ???

I still have all my 01W/fd disks and I’d love to share my sequences with you all.

Man, I would love to hear some of the stuff you have done Sharp. Did you write many of your own patches?

When I first got my 01w, my friend and I ( you know, whose M1 broke the keys on my 01 ::)) wrote a performance called the 'Grail Quest' ( the story of King Arthur) . I was still reeling from the Film 'Excaliber' starring Nigel Terry and I was extremely inspired. (They filmed it in Ireland you know). It was 6 months solid work but it was a great time working with great new technology for that period. Aah, good memories ;).

Best

Spud ;D

PS: Sharp, if you want to put your own image at the side of your post ( Like You have Bart Simpson) how do you do that? :)

Hi.

Yes.
I’ll do a search for Teledisk later tonight.
I have a few PA80 files to upload too, so if I get Teledisk I’ll upload my 01W collection too.

Did you write many of your own patches?

LOL…. I can’t even remember what’s on the disks. I’m 27 years old, so I was only a kid when I had the 01W/fd.

PS: Sharp, if you want to put your own image at the side of your post ( Like You have Bart Simpson) how do you do that?

Hi Guys,

I almost sold my 01 when I was looking around for my Triton studio. Couldn't do it in the end, I also bought my 01w/fd new in the early 90's.

The 01 currently lives in the attic, due to the fact we were moving house a few months back.

I do itend to sample it into my TS, but that another project that's taking some time to get together.

Chordial

I stand guilty as charged. Bought my O1W/FD back in Dec. 1991. This instrument really started me on the road to creating music on a regular basis. The sequencer put me on a fast track that I couldn't attain with my old 3440 Teac reel to reel. I still have it. It sits on my triple stand just below the Trinity.

PCM cards: XSC-3S piano/keyboard
XSC-2S orchestral
XSC-1S Best of M&T
Disks: Voice crystal: 1, 2, & 4
Sound Source: non linear expl/int, Acoustic set
Korg: Latin disk
Korg keyboards are very prominent in my setup. I no longer use the O1W sequencer but the sounds still find places in my mixes, along with my Wavestation, Trinity and Karma. Regards, nitecrawler ;)

Hi
I've had my 01Wfd since early 1993. :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Yep.... that made me a happy chappy. The 01Wfd delivers such earthy and full sounds. I have a Triton now ... but the 01Wfd still has to give it a hand sometimes. I tweaked with the sounds and have gotten some far out stuff from it. Pipe organ is just simply amazing as are some of the soundscape pallettes.

Also the technique of same FX environment from program or combination to program of combination allows you to move seamlessly between them, instead of the crashingly embarrassing halt you get with other machines.

I've been offered good money for mine .... but I don't sell it. It sits really well as jewel in my rig which is composed of Korg MS20,VC10,Triton, Roland D50, E15, Jupiter 6, Ensoniq Mirage and Hammond M3. The 01Wfd compliments them very well. If you want to hear some examples of just how well you can hear mp3s on nzmp3.co.nz under the artist Tom Main. To get in you'll need these:
Password: nzmp3 Username: kiwimusic

If you partake ... I hope you'll enjoy. You'll hear the 01Wfd in there.

Cheers
Tommo
