iPad Connection to Kronos

Post by Nippess »

I have a new ipad mini (birthday pressie!), and would like to explore using it with my Kronos. I've read that a camera connection kit is required; could someone please explain what this is, or how to begin my learning curve? I already have my eye on the Gadget app, and the Yamaha Drum/Synth one as reviewed here last year. Thanks! :? :? :D

The camera kit is about $29 usd or 20 pounds?

Its a device to upload photos to your PC via USB

It can also connect midi keyboards to the iPad.

I have seen a claim that Apple no longer supports 3rd party camera kits so you may have to pay the Apple brand tax and buy their own Camera Kit.

Does you iPad mini have the new Lightning port? Make sure the Camera Kit has the right connection for your iPad mini version.

You can get adaptors though.

It's just a USB adapter.

I actually originally bought one of those 3rd party adapters for like $20 and had tons of problems with it. It was constantly showing disconnection errors whenever I would try to use it (either in CF or USB mode - it was a combo adapter). I ended up just tossing it and spending the extra $10 and buying the Apple one. I've had no problems with the Apple adapter. IMO, it was worth the extra $10.

Same. Tired of problems with other brands, just buy Apple one. Works perfectly.

Thanks everyone, I will look into that!
Anyone wish to share what you are experimenting with when using iPad with Kronos?
