will a Korg NanoKontrol work with Kross

Post by shaneblyth »

I was thinking of buying a 61 key kross just for portability, practices and the like but wondered if something like a korg nanokontrol or simiar mini controller can be plugged into its usb port and setup and used to control some of the settings on the Kross. I'd specifically like it to be able to control a few things like when in combi mode maybe it could control the volumes of say the piano and strings independent of the master volume. Anyone done this or tried it ?

The only Korg synth capable of working with a USB midi controller with out a computer is the Kronos. The usb on the Krome and Kross are only capable of sending and recieving midi DATA, they wont be able to power or detect another USB device as these devices require special drivers to make them work. Now if you have a standard MIDI controller like the Behringer BCR2000 which has midi i/o, you could hook that to the Kross midi i/o and use it that way.
