add program to combinaison with all FX

Post by rawalpundi »

hi,

is there a way to set exactly the same sound of a bank preset to a channel of a combinaison or a sequencer ?

when I simply select a program, the total FX is not imported for example, so it does not sound exacty the same

if I create a sequencer song from the program mode, all the FX of the preset are imported
but how to import 2 different presets with different FX ?
for instance, I have 3 presets in my banks : bass, synth, lead, and I would like to get those 3 sounds in a combinaison or sequencer

thanks

Use "copy from program" from the drop down utility menu instead, and pay careful attention to the options presented regarding fx.

What Sander said (from The "Page Menu Command").
"To me the synthesizer was always a source of new sounds that musicians could use to expand the range of possibilities for making music."

thanks, it works
but what if the MFX and TFX of 2 programs are different ?
at the moment, when I "copy from program" a second program in a second channel, the MFX and TFX of the previously copied program are overwritten

You have to just pick 2 MFX and 2 TFX that are the best compromise for all.

ok, too bad we have to do that ...
sure there is no way to add different programs without having to redesign the FXs ?

Unless you find a way to add more MFX and TFX slots to your Kronos, no.
Mostly the MFX consists of a Reverb and Chorus anyway, it's easy enough to share those.

Yeah, it's rare that you would need multiple reverbs and multiple choruses, but if you did for some reason and you have available IFX slots, you could do it as an insert instead. If you're copying all the effects from all the programs, it's likely that there is some significant overlap (redundancy) of effects. And really, once you combine multiple programs into a combi, it's likely you'll need to tweak the effects anyway, relative to one another to create a good mix.

well, I expected to change as less settings as possible to create a combi
but I trust you that it is better to tweak the FXs
I will try this
thanks
