MS2000 won't retain MIDI RECIEVE DUMP

Post by tubbs »

I saved (via Bome's SendSX) an ALL MIDI dump to my pc and when later i transmit that file the MS2000 reads "Now Receiving..." yet the patches remain unchanged after it's finished.

any ideas?

ps: yes, i have the SystemEx setting is set to "ENABLE"

lower the speed of the transmission in sendXS. this helped me with dumping sysex on some older synths.

I also use Bome for SysEx. On my MS2000, if I receive 1 patch, I must do a "write patch" immediately, because if I navigate away without saving, then the patch is lost. If I receive a whole bank, I don't recall if that needs to be saved, I don't think there is a "write bank" function. Note that there is no great way of knowing what is in the SysEx file, other than the name and maybe the filesize, so try a few. Be sure to save everything first, because you could load a SysEx that overwrite everything.

Oh, you want to be on the same midi channel too, that is, if the SysEx file was saved as channel 1, then your MS2000 needs to also be on channel 1. Mine is ch12 in my midi chain, so I had to load a bunch as ch1, then switch to ch12, than same them all over again so the right midi channel would be in my SysEx files.
