Looking for a case
I am looking for a case for my kronos x88 and need suggestions. I just left guitar center and wasn't happy with the one size fits all approach. Different Velcro inserts and put together things for each different 88 key board.
Please let me know what has worked the best and any suggestions. I don't want to put this in my SUV anymore without protecting it
Ps; what do you clean your touchscreen with as well
Thanks to all!

Gator Cases
I have the 73 Key Kronos, but I bought a Gator Cases TSA model and I am happy with it. It uses two padded velcro straps inside the case to secure the keyboard. They have an 88 key model GKPE-88-TSA (gatorcases.com) it costs about $400 US. It's hard plastic and comes with roller blade type wheels. Good luck in your search for the perfect case. Regards, Rockitman

I have an SKB ATA case (the one with the puzzle piece foam inserts) for my 88 and it works great. I've used it for 3 different boards over the last 10 years and have never had a problem with it. It's actually fallen down the steps a few times and nothing inside has suffered any damage. That being said, I recently picked up one of the Gator Lightweights (it's a canvas bag over a rigid frame) for my v-synth and I really like it. It's a bit easier to maneuver around and the handles don't hurt my hands after 5 minutes of carrying like the SKB does. Plus, it's quite a bit lighter than the equivalent SKB case. If you don't need a super-rigid (and heavy) ATA case, the Gator lightweights are really nice. Plus, they're a lot less expensive.

I use the Gator ATA hardcase for my Kronos 88 and it's a great fit. I've been very happy with it.

Bought this for my Kronos (with a 76 key version for my Nord Stage2 88) and they've just made their first big journey from the Middle East back to the UK with no problems at all. Heading back in a few weeks and I've got no worries.

FWIW, I always buy high quality lightly used cases off my local classifieds and have never been happier. I pay $20 for a $600 case that just needs a bit of foam added to fit my kronos 61
The one I have for my dreaded keytar was actually free! ANVIL case... the nice gentleman dropped it off at my shop with a new 8x4 sheet of foam so i could refoam it... hows that for service?
The things touring musicians will sell after a 10 day tour

Just a cautionary note about Gator moulded cases...
I have two, for my Kronos and my Jupiter 80. I gig a lot, and most of the time my gear is in transit or being loaded in and out of venues, so the cases take a bit of a hammering - and in this respect they hold up very well, giving good protection.
BUT....the handles have come off both of them since they are not adequately designed to take the weight of the boards. The screws which hold them have pulled through the moulded plastic mountings. We're currently trying to work out a way to re-mount them and make them stronger.
Otherwise, I think they're great cases...but this may be something to think about if you're considering a purchase.
