Moving older SongBook files to Pa3X with SongBook Editor 1.4
Moderators: Sharp, X-Trade, Pepperpotty, karmathanever
Yes, Still no songbook editor and I still not use my PA3x.
I am a programmer. Two months ago when I bought my pa3x I should have asked the protocol of songbook... I would have done a songbook editor myself and would have already finished it !
A user not happy ! Who spend a lot of money to have trusted Korg

Can someone tell me if pa3x can read the same txt files as i was using on pa2x?
For example, on my pa2x each of my texts has chords above it like this
Am___________Dm________________E
im singing in the rain, can you hear my voice
Will all my chords stay on the same line like it used to be on pa2x or they have changed this as well on pa3x??
I hope you get what im trying to explain.
Another question, has search function improved when you click lyrics and than trying to search for a text file on hard drive, while you are in style play mode, is this function any better than pa2x? Not the songbook im talking about while playing style search function?

Songbook/PA3X
If I am reading this thread right, tranferring a songbook from PA2X to PA3X may not work well unless you have updated the PA3X to 1.11, correct? Thanks from Ohio, USA

I like the song book map or image that show the pa3 and pa2 and pa800 , korg said ,,While in SongBook Editor, click on the label on top of the Resource column and see all the entries ordered by bank and location number; you can then select all the entries that are based on a particular Style bank, and that would be great but korg does not have a standard set of styles ,so now I have a song the is rock , on my pa2x in the rock bank (5) first style is Pop rock and in the pa3x rock bank there no Pop rock style , so just give me standard set of ROM styles and put all the new styles that you give us in the Favorites or user bank ,
and there in not going to be a editor for the pa keyboard , i havd the i3 that was in 1993 and i30 ,pa80, pa800 ,and now pa3x , it time for a change, look at yamaha software page , all kinds of programs to help you .. so just keep waiting for the editor ..

The korg forums can pick what they like , I would think just a stander editor would work like all the other korg keyboard has,,, for me a Computer Editor would just make some of us just play around on the computer more, moveing thing here and there and not make music,,, the song book is nice but there little bugs in it , and when i go back and forth , take the song book out on a usb memory stick and then back in ,, time has gond by , the key board has usb ,, just like transferring files, midi files,i should just drag in a songbook , or as i edit the song book it is editing the keyboard in real time , if i move a song to a new locations in the song book it should be done in the keyboard ,useing the usb , the korg Arranger Keyboards have been out for 30 years and no software,, and it doesn't matter what software yamaha has , good or bad ,,, korg has none at all ..

and korg might be right ,when i do it all ( edit file ,midi ,songbook ,style moving, whatever) in side the keyboard it alway works right ,
and Paolo : Hope you are keeping well.

Duby,
I'm a little confused here, because you say there is no software for Korg Arrangers, and we are discussing about software dedicated to editing our Arranger's data (SongBook Editor).
I asked about Yamaha, because you pointed me to their pages, and I admit that I were not able to find something that could help me understand (I found some file format converters, not needed on a Pa).
I would be glad if you can help me by describing your specific needs. Please, if it is not relevant to the SongBook Editor, open a new thread.
As for moving files, we do not suggest working on the internal data of your Pa, since it seems less comfortable than working on your PC. However, you can work on internal data if so you wish (but please remember to do a backup of your data before editing!). Here is how to do:
1. Connect the DEVICE USB port of your Pa to an USB port of the PC.
2. If they are still turned off, turn them on.
3. On the Pa, go to the Media > USB page, and touch the Enable button. The icon of the Pa’s internal memory will appear in the list of the devices connected to your PC.
At this point, you can work directly on the internal files.
When done, eject the Korg icon from your PC, then touch the Disable button on the Pa.

I'am confused
No Palol ,you are not confused ,, I'am ,,I am wrong ,,yes we do have software for the korg pa
keyboard , the songbook editor ,,and if we are just talking
about the songbook editor then there is nothing more to say
the songbook does it all ,and you might be right ,I should open a new thread, things we do not need ,like a PC editor for style editor or User Bank Manager , a performance manager and etc..
But again korg is right , we do have songbook software, and that what most people want here and we got it ,
if people wanted a pa3x PC editor (look like most don't ) ,or korg would make it ,,

Oh yes , Here is how to do it :
1. Connect the DEVICE USB port of your Pa to an USB port of the PC.

. this is all true but all i see is my folders of midi songs and mp3 songs , there is no Dir list ,, for me to copy the songbook files to ( if should look like ::: startup /all/

3. On the Pa, go to the Media > USB page, and touch the Enable button. The icon of the Pa’s internal memory will appear in the list of the devices connected to your PC is just for copying midi files and mp3 files ,, that ok .. but there is no way so far of copying SONGDB.SBD
