Korg Zero 4 worth buying in 2014 >?

Post by b0jan »

Hello,
my name is bojan, I'm keen on buying a Korg Yero 4 since very begining, but till now I never had a chance. So I readed a lot about it all pros and cons, but atm there is not a single site from where I can dwnload the firwire, nor any driver or traktor related program. So this is why I,m starting this post, I hope to get all KORG ZERO 4 dwnloads in one place.

Thank you all for your time, and help.

You didn't look in the Korg support site I assume :)

Do you own a PC laptop or a Macbook?
Be very carefull about buying firewire audio interfaced hardware with PC laptops though, as the chipset is very important to get the lowest latency, and for the device to even work properly.
A laptop with a Texas instruments firewire chipset is recommended. Other chipsets, Jmicron/O2/Ricoh/VIA have mixed results.

Checks this article for more info: http://avid.force.com/pkb/articles/en_US/FAQ/en404647

I own both the Zero 4 and Zero 8 and I can still recommend the zero 4 if your firewire chipset is ok.
If not, better go for another mixer like the Denon X1600 or some other midi enabled mixer with usb, or even a DJ controller with audio interface and analogue mixer in one.
