Can't change tempo of individual samples?

Post by Stabby »

I've taken some snippets of a couple vinyl records and I'm trying to match them, but there seems to be no easy way to do this. There's BPM sync, but I prefer doing it by ear. However changing the tempo changes the tempo of every sample instead of just the one I want to change.

What would be the best way to do this?

Which is the exact question?!
If you want to alter only one sound when changing the bpm the other samples must be "sync off" on "bpm sync" menu.

The sample's BPM comes for when it is sampled if you sample it via the microSAMPLER. When I would record into the microSAMPLER I would set the global BPM for the sample I was getting an record it. Then you have to set the sample to time-stretch or pitch-stretch and it will follow the global BPM. Don't remember the exact name of the function that changes that setting but it is in the sample edit section.

Hope that helps. There is a great explanation in the microSAMPLER manual.

thank you. I really just want to know if I can read each samples specific tempo. like on the sp-404, you play the sample and the tempo is displayed.

1. in sample mode, touch the key that has the sample you want.

2. hold EDIT and touch FX SW. notice that the LED under FX SW lights up.

3. turn the parameter knob until FX SW lights up again.

4. now turn the parameter knob gently to the right: ORIG BPM is displayed.
