As a practical matter, I don't expect Korg to do any serious hardware updates or sequencer fixes, etc, etc on the Kronos. The Kronos X is in the can, boxed in.

I think a discussion about necessary features/improvements on the next workstation is better. If you agree, a new post topic should be started

We are in 2014 but believe me that

synthesizers from 1977-1990
are more popular then ever.

a synthesizer is only as good as the guy behind it.
If presets is your thing Godparticle
i don't see a bright future in the EDM world for you.

I agree that it is nice to see updates for a synthesizer and that Kronos could have even a lot more engines... but be real.
My analogue machines do one thing and have no software and they do what they need to do. I remember the time when i only had a Roland D-20 and a S-330 sampler attached to the great Atari St-1040 (RIP) .
With a limitation of 8 voices polyphony .. I made complete songs and i truly knew the D-20 inside out. Today i have 200+ plugins, many synths and you know what... sometimes i get lost in the options.

Limitation is what makes a musician creative.

The Kronos needs some serious feature upgrades in order to compete. I sometimes have to check my email and Facebook during the gig and it's unbelievable that I can't do that on Korg's "flagship" in this day and age. My Kronos cost almost 5x as much as my laptop and I can do all that on there. I mean, the version of Quicken that comes pre-installed on the Roland Jupiter 80 just blows away the cheap version of GnuCash on the Kronos.

I would also like a dedicated hardware switch that automatically submits an order to Dominos Pizza. That would make rehearsals so much easier to manage.

Come on Korg, get with it!

You forget the free supply of beer, and of course, as a Korg endorsee, Rick Wakeman would expect the supply of Chicken Balti to go with it (the beer) for the times when he is bored sh*tless in the latest magnum opus...

it would be great to have a Facebook app on my Kronos so I can keep up with all the complaining . ooops, ' sharing '
