Dear KRONOS user,

KRONOS System Version 2.1.2
Software version 2.1.2 includes various improvements and resolutions to specific operational issues.
EXs 14, 15, and 16 require KRONOS System Version 2.1.2.
We recommend that all KRONOS and KRONOS X users update to version 2.1.2. This update may be installed on any KRONOS or KRONOS X, regardless of the currently installed system version; it is not necessary to install intermediate upgrades first.
The new software is free for all registered users, and is now available for download from the Operating System section at https://shop.korg.com/kronos/Support. For detailed information about the improvements in 2.1.2, please see the Release Notes at the same URL.

EXs14 EDM Drums (normally $69, introductory price of $39)
EXs15 Classical and Ambient Choir (normally $149, introductory price of $99)
EXs16 Funk and Soul Brass (normally $149, introductory price of $99)
* EXs14 EDM Drums
Contents: Approximately 25 MB of PCM samples, 567 Drum Samples, 16 Drum Kits, 16 Programs, 228 Patterns, and 13 Songs (for RPPR)
This library includes drum samples, kits, and drum patterns that cover cutting-edge EDM and dance music. Patterns are provided both for the Drum Track and as RPPR for Sequencer mode. Unlike simple audio loops, you can make even radical changes to tempo without affecting audio quality, and easily change the sounds or edit the rhythms to make them your own.
* EXs15 Classical and Ambient Choir
Contents: Approximately 739 MB of PCM samples, 50 Stereo Multisamples, 128 Programs, 32 Combinations, 6 Wave Sequences, and 2 Demo Songs
This library contains a wide variety of choir samples ranging from small to large ensembles, including all‐male, all‐female, and mixed groups, with vocalizations such as “Aah,” “Ooh,” and “Unh” provided in the soprano, alto, tenor, and baritone vocal ranges. There are also ethnic voices with authentic nasal resonance, jazzy scat vocals such as “Da,” “Di,” “Du,” “La,” “Pa,” and “Tu,” and even whispers and humming.
* EXs16 Funk and Soul Brass
Contents: Approximately 677 MB of PCM samples, 77 Stereo Multisamples, 128 Programs, 32 Combinations, 32 Wave Sequences, and 5 Demo Songs.
EXs16 delivers crisp and powerful solo and ensemble brass sounds ideal for funk, soul, and pop. In particular, there are numerous sounds targeted at the funk and soul of the 1970’s. There’s also a great selection of richly expressive solo saxophones designed for both recording and live performance, as well as French Horns for film scores and theatrical productions.
The library includes a wide range of articulations, including shakes, falls, sforzando, staccato, gliss up, octave, mute, and more. Round‐robin effects enhance the naturalness of the sound through subtle changes each time you play a note. The ensemble samples were recorded with top‐rated musicians playing together in the studio, producing an extremely natural feel.

Note: All of these new EXs libraries require KRONOS System Version 2.1.2 or later.
EXs demo versions and authorization codes
As always, you can download and try out all EXs libraries for free. Initially, they will work in demo mode. You'll be able to play, edit, and save Programs, Combis, Wave Sequences, and Songs which use the new samples - but until you purchase an authorization code, their sound will fade out periodically. To purchase an authorization code, go to the online shop at https://shop.korg.com/kronos/SoundLibraries. Once purchased, entering the authorization code into the KRONOS removes the audio limitations of demo mode - no additional downloads required.
We hope that you enjoy these additions to the KRONOS as much as we enjoyed creating them!
Best regards,
KORG

Has anyone tried the new OS and/or EXs libraries yet? How are they working/sounding? I'll update my OS today probably and maybe get an EXs pack.

I updated my the OS to vs 2.1.2 shortly after receiving the email from Korg. So far my Kronos X is working without issue--just as it did before the update. I do not hear any differences in the sound but I haven't played through that many patches.
I did have one small glitch. After the install completed, I was prompted to restart the keyboard. Upon restart the Kronos hard drive light flashed momentarily but it would not reboot. So, I tried a second time and the same thing occurred. I decided to unplug the power cord from the back the Kronos, wait 10 seconds and plug it in again--then the Kronos rebooted without any further issues.
Strange but all is well now.

Wow, finally a funk/r&b/electricjazz brass library that sounds really useable!
This is closing one of the few important gaps left in the Kronos sound world.
The little EDM drum library sounds very welcome as well.
Slow download speed seems to be due to high traffic: I can download only at a fraction of my available bandwidth. But hey, what are one or two hours of OS and library download times, after waiting for useable funk brass since Frantom G times?

Be sure you copied the correct files to your USB drive and not the folder itself.
