Just talked with Sweetwater. They have been hearing rumors that all companies in the US are not getting their shipments because of delays at all of the Pacific Ports.

So I did some research:

Apparently the issue for us in the US (and why it maybe that other countries will get their electribes first) has to do with the Port Unions who represent many workers who make $40k - $60K a year for being part-timers and 6 figure a year full time who are working and still getting paid but their union contract has lapsed and they are in new contract negotiations. The rumor is that while they are not striking, they maybe slowing down their work progress and the unions have asked skilled workers who work cranes and drive trucks to not go to work.

http://www.latimes.com/business/la-fi-p ... story.html

I have not found any December updates to this story...

So it is not Korg...it's the Port Unions. :( :x

I'm still keeping my Pre-Order with Sweetwater, I got a great deal. Also they do not Let pre-orders "time-out". While I want / need this unit NOW!!!!!!! It is not worth the extra $300 to get it air dropped from Japan, Australia or where else you lucky fuckers, not in the US, are getting yours.

Sounds very much like the dockers are: 'working to rule'. In most jobs like this there's an 'official' way of doing something that fits in with the rules, usually involving health and safety. Or a more efficient way that bends some of the rules a little bit and is faster. So instead of going out on strike they just 'work to rule' and things do eventually get done, but all those little rules that usually get overlooked are now strictly adhered to and things slow down to a crawl.

Well the other thing is that Unions are forcing skilled workers who operate cranes and drive trucks to not come in to work. Port management has asked several times for more skilled workers to run these critical areas during the holidays and the unions have flat out prevented those who need the work and need to make money for their families to make a living this holiday season.

Unfortunately this becomes a tickle down effect and affects other people who need to work and depend on whatever is on those docks that is not being shipped.

It is a terrible mess that does not need to happen...let workers come in to work, ship the goods and make money to feed their families.

I have not seen any new updates on this since the article I found.

It's still an issue in Seattle I know. I'm getting ready to move to Luxembourg next month, and it was supposed to take 6-8 weeks for my studio gear to get there. Just yesterday we found out it might be 3-4 months thanks to this slowdown. :(

Hmmmm it looks like the "West Coast Blockade" is either over or loosened up. I am seeing retailers (for other industries) getting product in their stores, even 2015 items they were not expecting. I'm on many other forums...mostly for pop culture collectibles.

I know in Long Beach the Port Commission got involved and well, in laymen terms, got some stuff straightened out for Port of Long Beach!

So could this mean a possible positive out come and on time shipping dates?

Week commencing 15th December from UK music retailer.
If I'm not listening to music, or if I'm not making music, then I'm probably thinking about music.

Volca Sample, FM, Beats, Kick. OP-1, Monologue, Pocket Operators. And an ipad.

eyup,

I've been following the electribe 2 threads for a while now. I reserved mine back in september and honestly despite the negative feedback I'm seeing I'm still looking forward to getting mine as I'm ann avid Ableton Live user.

So..

I've just come off the phone with Korg distribution in Milton Keynes.

Delivery is late. They "hope" it'll arrive with them on Thursday 18th and they'll be shipping the first load to stores on friday.

we'll be lucky to have our new boxes of joy/disappointment before xmas at this rate.

sad times

Well I've just been told by my sales rep that both the synth and sampler are in transit and will be getting shipped before the end of this week which is interesting news to me.
