guitar strumming

Post by pete3572 »

Hi, hope someone can help me on this one. how do you set up the ribbon controller so you can up/down strum while using a guitar sound.
Thanks in advance

You will want to use KARMA for this. If you can find a guitar program that already has the ability to strum, you can try copying the KARMA GE into your preferred guitar program with the Copy KARMA Module command. I believe you can copy KARMA from a program to a combi and vice versa.

Otherwise, there are instructions on the Karma-Lab wiki for setting up "manual advance" and "direct index" settings to simulate strumming using KARMA:

http://karma-lab.wikidot.com/karma2:man ... rect-index (Note: the wiki doesn't have Kronos-specific instructions yet, so you might want to follow the OASYS instructions and adjust where necessary.)

INT C 039 gentle guitar sw1,2 lets you strum after the initial Karma GE finishes. This may be something to learn from.

There's also a video I made back during the OASYS days, showing it being done on the OASYS (and it works the same on the Kronos):

This is brilliant! Thanks for sharing.
As far as I can see, it shows that it can be done but do you have any tutorials that show how to do it?
Thanks

More specifically, how do you create a single shot strum that can alternate between up and down chord strokes?

Well, there is this one for the OASYS:

I could swear that this had been discussed here before with regards to the Kronos, perhaps even rewritten, but I searched for awhile and could not locate it. ](*,)
