Another Electribe 2 bug

Post by DodgingRain »

I can reproduce this one consistently. If I have Cubase 8 send midi clock to the tribe Cubase crashes consistently. I get somewhere between 3 and 20 bars before it completely locks up.

I'm using midi over usb via korgs usb midi driver version 1.14 r12 on a 64 bit windows 8.1 PC. I've tried with the tribe set on auto and external over usb for clock.

Anybody else seeing the same thing? Hate to have to go back to regular midi cables and a midi interface. :?

I don't have that problem with Ableton Live on a 64bit Win 8.1 machine (can't test it with Cubase).

Maybe it's just the driver (I don't use it). You could uninstall it and try it with the driver Win 8.1 installs upon next connection.

I too have problems with syncing using usb midi. At random times the electribe looses the sync. I have to reattach the usb to fix. This is with Ableton Live 64bit on Win 8.1 (so it might nog be a DAW problem but more OS / driver?)

When using the Electribe as a master this doesn't seem to happen.

Using the standard windows driver didn't seem to make a difference. Same issue. I have other korg midi gear that works without problems (M3, KP3+, etc.)

Hate to go back to midi cables.
