I wonder whether anyone from Korg follows this group.

I've been using the SV1 since it was released and have toured and recorded with it many times. It is a wonderfully responsive instrument especially as a Rhodes/Wurly substitute and I have tweaked out some pretty decent acoustic piano sounds for live use. I love the way you can use the front panel to change eq and effects. The audio inputs are a life saver for connecting a second keyboard. I have often used the SV1 to control my Kronos X or Motif, layering pads and other sounds.

There are a number of things I have found pretty aggravating though:

1) Korg abandoned the instrument completely after the second soundbank update. Apart from the colour changes, of course. What a shame.

2) There is currently no way to disable program change, midi volume and midi reset messages that are sent out every time a patch is changed. That's potentially a disaster when you're controlling external sounds from the SV1 - volume instantly leaps to full-on when you change sound.

3) It would be great to be able to use a controller pedal to send volume changes over midi without affecting the SV1 volume. Currently it can't be done. I got around that by using an Anatek Pocket Pedal, but I would love to keep things simpler.

3) I can live with using the external editor to change the sounds and memorise them in any location. What I really hate is that I have no way of knowing which samples or physical models are being used in a preset. And of course, there is no way to select different ones or alter them. Most users probably don't know that the SV1 actually responds to midi control numbers that change attack, release, filter cutoff, resonance... It's a wonderful tool. Pity that there is no way to memorise these parameters. You can only change them in realtime using an external controller. Korg should really release the editor they use to create the soundbanks - it obviously can access many more parameters and would take the SV1 to a much higher level. Or at least upgrade the current editor to access the hidden parameters. I know I would be more than willing to pay for it...
