Is there a way to change the instrument in a style in ACC1?

Of course you can. Look in your manual on page 59
"Style Element Track Controls: Sound/Expression"

Remember to save the style first in user area before you start editing.
Also, uncheck the protection in Global --> Media tab.
Remember, once you edit the sound for ACC1, check the original sound box
when the style is saved. Also, every VAR,Intro and Ending can have a different sound in ACC1. If you want this you need to check the box "ORIGINAL SOUND" after the style is saved.

Basically there are two different ways: You wanna edit ACC1 in style or in performasce? Direct in style - You should choose Edit/Record (current new) style- then You are in basics of the style. There You can edit/change (the sounds etc.) by parts of the style. There can be selected different sounds and options for each part of the style and they come out on the screen when "Original sounds" is cheked. If You wanna just change the ACC1 - then You can do it direct (Without edtiting the style) and write it in Performace, but You can loose the sound changes that are used (if) in style. For more: You can change and save your instruments in Soundbook songs. They will be different. And when You later (for excample) change some sounds direct in style, the Performances will not change. So Style -> Performance -> Songbook, and for testing I always recommend to make a new copy!
