Thanks I found them. As you suggested RTFM. Now I need to dust off my Emerson and Palmer LP for the Lucky Man prog!mikeyd wrote:gdorworth
Have you looked in the default banks? They should be in in U-AA and U-BB for programs and Combinations are in I-D.
Since you have and X, select the KRONOSX files and use those.
But I'm a little confused.
Did you buy the Berlin Piano (EX17 and EX18)? That's the only way you can get the KRS07.
So if that's the case, maybe reload all of them again if they are not in the default banks. Also make sure to load the samples. All of the instructions are in the OP guides that came with the banks.
Hope that helps

Just purchased the EXs17 / EXs18 / KRS07 sound pack last night.
Berlin is excellent (nice to finally play it without the fades). Very useable
Probably around 16-18 programs or so... that I can use from KRS07.
Which is pretty good. 1 sax & 1 horn program that I quickly tweaked, that I really like and can use on several songs.
Overall, I am very happy with this purchase.

EXs17 = 8 programs
EXs18 = 15 programs
I am wondering what the percentage of EXs17 and 18 are used for the KRS-07 sounds.
Will the PCG file from Kronos 2 be available for Kronos/KronosX users?
If so, KRS07 is included. I think that EXs17 and 18 voices could be changed on KRS 07 to similar voices already in Kronos without to much loss.
I liked EXs17 and EXs18, but can't justify a purchase right now. The ratio REAL(Brazil)/DOLLAR is very high at this time. I understand that US$250 is not that much, if you think in Dollars, but in reais it is prohibited.
However, I would love to have KRS07.

Hi. I'm also happy with the purchase and thought I did everything correctly. However, each time I switch on my Kronos, the samples are missing, so I have to install the EXs17/18 and KRS07 again, and then it works fine (the downloads are OK and authorizatons are confirmed). I thought I had read all of the user guide, but have I missed something? SveinAndreuz wrote:Just purchased the EXs17 / EXs18 / KRS07 sound pack last night.

Much appreciated...

Korg has typically made .pcg files available in the past. Since it depends on the sample sets that it comes with, it's relatively useless on it's own. At least that's what I'm thinking. If not, all apologies. I didn't mean to promote piracy, especially from Korg.StephenKay wrote:Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought you can't get KRS-07 unless you purchase the package. If so, are you aware of what you are asking?
The reason I'm interested in the .pcg file is because of this issue with the classic Kronos, which I have. Would suck to shell out $250 bucks and have issues with it.

And if Korg chooses to make it available, then it will be available.McHale wrote:Korg has typically made .pcg files available in the past. This is a rather tiny issue (IMO) that Dan has addressed in his post. If you purchase the option, you already know from this post what the issue is. It's not really a reason to ask that someone upload a file that is part of a paid upgrade.The reason I'm interested in the .pcg file is because of this issue with the classic Kronos, which I have. I'm not defending Korg's marketing and packaging of this sound update, but rather the general concept of intellectual property and licensed software.
No need to and I don't have an issue with it. I don't think $249 is too much to make my old Kronos current. But since I found out that the Kronos X and Kronos 2 has stuff that the Kronos Classic lacks *AND* it does cause issues with a paid upgrade that I want to purchase, I'd like to know how much before I buy it. Since there is nothing definitive demonstrating the problem, there's no other way to find out except see for myself, at least until someone does a video, which probably won't happen.StephenKay wrote:I'm not defending Korg's marketing and packaging of this sound update, but rather the general concept of intellectual property and licensed software.
Now that I have my Kronos operational again, I plan on upgrading the SSD and purchasing the upgrade but until this issue is resolved or at least until I can see how obvious the issue is and whether I find it acceptable, I'm going to hold off. But it does bring up the obvious question of what other features or sounds or wave sequences or ... are missing from the Kronos Classic compared to the X or 2.
To be honest, I never really considered what I was asking until you said something Stephen. It wasn't an intentional "warez" request, though it kind of appears that way now.

Thanks for the response Stephen.

No problem, but with all due respect, it seems to me you're "making a mountain out of a molehill".McHale wrote:But since I found out that the Kronos X and Kronos 2 has stuff that the Kronos Classic lacks *AND* it does cause issues with a paid upgrade that I want to purchase, I'd like to know how much before I buy it. According to the post http://www.korgforums.com/forum/phpBB2/ ... hp?t=95323 :
"program U-BB66 - U-BB68 link to empty banks Wave Sequences: I-141 - I-144"
That's 3 programs that link to 4 missing Wave-Sequences. Those 3 programs don't work, because the Wave-Sequences are missing. What would a video show? The programs NOT working? Seems pretty clear to me. There are no reports of other missing "stuff". So it would seem that you can safely upgrade with the expectation that, for now, those 3 programs are not available. Or, you can wait until Korg releases an update that containes the missing Wave-Sequences.
+ 1
I bought and installed the whole upgrade after the OS update, on my original Kronos, and the wavetable problem for three slots is an absolutely minor issue, which may irritate you for a short moment when you detect it, and don't know the reason, but it does close to zero practical harm.
The update package as whole is simply great value for the money IMHO! The Berlin may not be an impressive solo piano, but it is a better band context piano, than any other piano for the Kronos I have met so far.
Still I think, Korg should make KRS07 available seprately at a normal price after a short while, looking at people for whom 250 bucks is a lot, for whatever reasons: I just feel with them, while respecting Korg's update policy.

I'm an old guy as it sounds like a couple of you are as well. The very thought of being able to update my Kronos with software versus buying a brand new keyboard (hardware) is just to so cool. I also have a Motif ES and XS. I can buy sounds for them but not a whole new operating system. No way to update them other than buying sounds, which isn't bad. I still love playing them both. But this Kronos is a BEAST!
Korg Kronos and Motif XS8 with KARMA, Motif ES6, Korg KARMA. Two American Strats and an old SG as well as a Mesa Amp and a Behringer Amp with misc pedals. Computer stuff Logic, Omnisphere, Ableton and MainStage.
A lot of the patches available in the KRS07 are freely available from the original author (as well as many more that Korg didn't use):jimknopf wrote:Still I think, Korg should make KRS07 available seprately at a normal price after a short while, looking at people for whom 250 bucks is a lot, for whatever reasons: I just feel with them, while respecting Korg's update policy.
