Do you mean any of the basic keyboard sounds or the "Whoa-WOW-whoa" talkbox guitar sound?

you could possibly get kinda close using the vocoder. Not exact, but at least enough to get the essence of it (good enough for a bar filled with drunk people).

it's a talkbox going into a guitar, just like the picture above shows.

If you've ever heard any Peter Frampton songs, he's the guy that popularized it in the 70s.

To do it faithfully, your guitar player needs something like this

Yes it it would be better for the guitar player to get the right gizmo. Also used by Dave Gilmour on some Floyd songs, like "Keep Talking".

Forget about finding a sample for this. This is one of the few sounds that MUST be done by the guitar player, using a talk box (as pictured in one of the replies).

You could record a guitar player doing it, then import that track as audio into a sequence and import the sequence to your Kronos (or to a laptop running a DAW) and play along with it, assuming that your sequence has a separate click output to the drummer. That's how I would do it.

damn right! His own fault for not doing any sort of research on his own parts, anyway.

No guitarist or talkbox necessary...I have the talkbox bits all sampled (isolated and taken from the original recording). PM me with your email address and I'll send them to you. I have them laid out on C, D, E and F and I trigger them in order while playing the staccato chords with my right hand. The longer wowwwwww wowwwww bits over the C/D chords at the end of the verse are there too.

No possibility of a "whoa" sample (or similar) and velocity controlled filter and/or autowah? I bet that could get pretty close!
