electribe2 & korg gadget with audio in
Anyone found any interesting methods using this setup? I did a little test run with Bilbao and Abu Dhabi sample player gadgets last night and found using the arp controls on Abu Dhabi was pretty reasonable when controlled with the electribe2 via CCK. Wondering if anyone sees anything useful in Gadget negating the upcoming sampler hardware for their intended use.
OKAY.... now ive been hearing a lot about this ipad app called gadget and sine i dont own an ipad and never saw a reason to get one in terms of apps....not interested i never checked it out until now.... WHAT THE FUDGE? this is like everything i wanted from a f*ck*ng app....

I get about 20 parts on my iPad Air 1. It's a massive improvement over the ipad3 performance that I was used tooRedHouse wrote:gadget is an awesome app, only problem is my iPad is too old and therefore gets glitchy after about 6 parts, sooner if I use mucho polyphony. If someone would just make gadget into hardware.....
I intend to hook it up with my E2.

Wow, I have an ipad2 and mini, both suck equally once I add a few parts in. Maybe I should forget buying synths and buy an ipad then?Buska wrote:I get about 20 parts on my iPad Air 1. wow, that really shows up the difference from where I'm at to what's possible. even a Mini 2 retina is 4-5 times mroe capable than my mini 1 and ipad2. Maybe a new iPad is the way to go for now......I have an Alesis io dock that I use with my iPad 2...shame it wont fit with a new ipad.Buska wrote:Here's the specs for each generation of the iPad with gadget:

What do people use to hook up their iPad and midi gear?

I have two iPads that connect to that and both iPads are powered by the iconnect and send and receive midi. Once my esx2 arrives I will connect that to the iconnect and slave the two iPads to the midi clock of the esx2, if the esx2 is really good I will get another eventually. That still leaves two midi DIN in/outs for other gear and a USB hub port for a usb midi keyboard to play keys on the esx2 and both iPads. There is also a computer USB port so I can slave ableton or reason to the esx2 midi clock also, but I'm trying to move away from the pc and work with hardware more but it can be done too.
I have a vp9000 in a cupboard so I might hook that up to one of the free midi ports

It's a nice bit of kit, and the editor app is really nice and easy to use too. I actually have it plugged into my computer if I want to go change any settings in the iconnect then I just opens the editor/manager on the computer and modify it from there.RedHouse wrote:I like the look of the iconnect but didn't hear of anyone actually using one before, sounds like another item on the wish list then!
Yes the old wish list, no matter how much you buy it still gets longer
